Call for Papers
In-depth, well-researched, original articles (including book reviews, technical reports and conference papers) in all areas of humanities, linguistics, languages, works of literature, literary studies, philosophy, cultural studies, digital humanities, medical humanities, translation studies, semiotics and communication studies are hereby invited from researchers for possible publication in the journal’s 2023 editions.
All articles must not have been submitted elsewhere or under consideration for publication in another journal. The manuscript should be between 15 and 20 pages, 1.5 line-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 font size on A4 paper with the author’s e-mail and institutional affiliations indicated. Manuscripts must be in Microsoft Word, not PDF. Please, note that manuscripts submitted in PDF files will not be sent out for review.
All manuscripts must undergo blind review and plagiarism check. NJH exercises zero tolerance for any form of plagiarism. Authors are also advised to adhere strictly to instructions guiding manuscript submission. Manuscripts that will be considered for review must comply with the following guidelines:
- Abstract
Abstract which must not exceed 200 words should capture succinctly the main thesis of the manuscript, specific objectives, gap in research, theory, methodology, summary, conclusion and recommendation. Four or five keywords are expected to be included immediately after the abstract.
- Introduction: maximum is 1000 words and should address the title under discussion with justification explicitly stated.
- The literature review should be engaging and robustly discussed
- Theoretical framework
Please, ensure that the proposed theory (ies) is (are) copiously explained and elaborated in a manner that is amenable to clarity and ease of understanding.
- Methodology
Ensure also that the method of data sampling and analysis aligns with the nature of the data with comprehensive justifications for the theory and technique well explained.
- Discussion of results
Data should be presented and elaborate discussions of results are demanded of all manuscripts worth consideration for publication in a highly reputable journal such as NJH.
- Conclusion and recommendations should be properly situated.
- Documentations
Authors are advised to maintain a specific documentation style. APA 7
th Edition and MLA 9
th Edition are recommended. All in-text citations must be religiously accounted for in the references. Where tables and figures are used, they should be documented properly, and the sampled data included.
- Fees
Every manuscript submitted must be accompanied by payment of Ten Thousand Naira (
N10, 000.00) for review and plagiarism check. Upon payment, the bank printout or deposit receipt duly signed should be sent for verification.
Authors of successful manuscripts will be notified immediately after the review process. No refund of fee after the payment is made.
- Publication
Only two weeks intervals will be given for corrections and resubmission of manuscripts recommended for publication. Accepted manuscripts will attract a publication fee of Twenty Thousand Naira (N20, 000.00) for online publication.

Very importantly, manuscripts intended for publication in NJH should be submitted early enough to allow ample time for review processes.

- Deadlines for manuscript submission
For September publication, the manuscript is expected to have been submitted to the emails stipulated above before June 10 2023, while submission of manuscripts for December publication ends on August 15 2023.
